the latest controversy over the confederate flag just sums up to me the state of dysfunction that exists in american society.. in summary: a white supremacist nutter shoots 9 black people dead in a church.
he's clearly inspired by the messages of others which the confederate flag is often a symbol of.. it seems like a no-brainer to remove it.
not only isn't it removed, it isn't even lowered at all as a mark of respect.. and of course now there are the people who want to defend their right to have it.

The distortion of slavery came later, and that's a shame that people only remember the bad, when their were also so many white people in the South helping the Black people to escape to have a better life.
Those brave white people that helped blacks to escape where a minority and they were violating the law of a nation whose populace in general was pro-slavery.

I was a true believer and I would have died from lack of a blood transfusion. I saw through them though on the issue of the organization's self worship. I forget what I did with my blood card but I must have thrown it away shortly after my disfellowshipping.

my uncle lives far away and my grandma wants to go visit him but says she is afraid of the demons in his rental home.
she is afraid a demon might follow her home.
Maybe your uncle - I don't know how old he is - is suffering from early stage Alzheimer's disease and is forgetting where he puts his clothes in.
I would recommend Lisa Rose's advise for him to see a doctor and possibly get a brain scan although, being a JW, he will believe that he's all right.

According to the Bible God allowed sin and misery to happen because the Devil challenged him saying that Man was only interested in him for the sake of being rewarded. It is Man's fault and God allows for sh!t to happen just to prove a point. Everything is supposed to be all right because Man's eternal reward for serving God is supposed to supersede any hideous thing that ever happened in their earthly life. That's how JWs and other Christian religions explain it and it's pathetic.

during the "imitate jesus" rc there was a strange moment where they played a video of a brother trying to explain the 1914 teaching.
the brother quickly goes through all the scriptural "proofs" and the householder is dumbfounded.
for many christians, the bible is viewed as the 100% error-free, perfect book straight from god, where every single word was carefully chosen by god for a reason.
but, usually, when you have a discussion on the topic, these christians will end up saying that only the original copies written directly from the hands of the prophets and apostles were error-free, and all manuscript copies since then are subject to copyist mistakes and other errors.. since zero original copies are in existence, how do we know the originals were error-free?
why should we think the originals should be error-free to begin with?

recently my uncle ( my mom's brother ) passed away, he was never a jw but evangelical christian all of his life, never accepting my moms teaching.
so my mom in facebook keeps on making references to other family members when her brother comes back in the resurrection and live in the paradise ...i thought that worldly people who is not jw will not going to be resurrected .... what is the current teaching on resurrection for nonjws?...

No it does not because being resurrected gives you the chance to become perfect in a perfect paradise. The resurrected gradually become perfect.
Also, they do not directly cite scripture for the 'second chance' teaching since they are in denial of basic Christian doctrine about the resurrection, on Judgment day, which is that of immortal souls given an immortal body and being sent to either heaven/paradise earth or to a literal hell.
